  2. express themselves well (both writing and speaking);
  3. have gained practical hands-on experience with research;
  4. have experience in and value public outreach and engagement;
  5. are meticulous and attentive to detail;
  6. can tolerate long hours at the microscope, in the field, or entering data into a computer;

If you think you meet many of these criteria, take some time to read a few of the publications from the lab. If you are interested in the topics of research we conduct, feel free to contact Dr. Craig McClain to discuss details.   Importantly, please be aware of the kinds of questions, topics, organisms, and environments we research.

You should also read these two posts about being a marine biologist.
